Expected Improvement
Higher end-user data rates at RNC border Increase in HSPA traffic at RNC border cells

HSDPA Inter-RNC Disabled: Zero data rates of around 10 seconds observed during inter-RNC handover. It is also observed that HSDPA service is degraded to R99 after the handover
HSDPA Inter-RNC Enabled: Continuous data rates observed during inter-RNC handover. However there is a slight degradation in data rate during the short handover instant

Statistics
HSDPA traffic maintained with increased in RNC101 but decreased in RNC103 HSUPA traffic increased by 14.52% with both RNCs registered increment in HSUPA traffic HSDPA (GB) HSUPA (GB)

This statistical comparison should only be taken as a reference as inter-RNC HSPA traffic is only a minor subset of the total traffic of the inter-RNC border cells.

Conclusions
With more new RNCs are integrated, inter-RNC border is expanding hence more subscribers will be affected by the RNC capacity expansion Drive test results show that data subscribers located at RNC borders will have a better user experience by maintaining high data rates during inter-RNC handover period
