SOURCES OF LIGHT

SUN

The Sun is the star at the center of the Solar System. It is almost perfectly sphericaland consists of hot plasma interwoven with magnetic fields.[10][11] It has a diameter of about 1,392,000 km, about 109 times that of Earth, and its mass (about 21030kilograms, 330,000 times that of Earth) accounts for about 99.86% of the total mass of the Solar System.[12] Chemically, about three quarters of the Sun's mass consists ofhydrogen, while the rest is mostly helium. Less than 2% consists of heavier elements, including oxygen, carbon, neon, iro n, and others

The earths only natural satellite. Its average distance from the earth is 384,403 km. Its revolution period around the earth is the same length and direction as its rotation period, which results in the moon always keeping one side turned toward the earth and the other side turned away from the earth. This type of motion is called synchronous rotation. The side turned away from the earth is called the moons dark side, even though it is lit half of the time. The moons sidereal period of revolution is about 27.32 days long. This means that a line drawn through the center of the earth and the moon would point to the same star every 27.32 days. Due to slight variations in the orbital velocity of the moon, over a 30 year period, 59% of the moons surface is made visible. This is known as libration.

Starlight is light emitted by stars.[1] It typically refers to visible electromagnetic radiation coming from stars other than the Sun, during the night, although starlight logically forms a minor component of daylight as well. Observation and measurement of starlight through telescopes is the basis for many fields of astronomy,[2] including photometry and stellar spectroscopy.[3]Starlight is also a notable part of personal experience and human culture, impacting a diverse range of pursuits including poetry[4], astronomy[2], and military strategy.[5]

A fluorescent lamp or fluorescent tube is a gas-discharge lamp that uses electricity to excitemercur y vapor. The excited mercury atoms produce shortwave ultraviolet light that then causes aphosphor to fluoresce, producing visible light. A fluorescent lamp converts electrical power into useful light more efficiently than an incandescent lamp. Lower energy cost typically offsets the higher initial cost of the lamp. The lamp fixture is more costly because it requires a ballast to regulate the current through the lamp

FLUORESCENT LAMP

The incandescent light bulb, incandescent lamp or incandescent light globe makes light by heating a metal filament wire to a high temperature until it glows. The hot filament is protected from air by a glass bulb that is filled with inert gas or evacuated. In a halogen lamp, a chemical process that returns metal to the filament prevents its evaporation. The light bulb is supplied with electrical current by feed-through terminals or wires embedded in the glass. Most bulbs are used in a socket (a housing giving mechanical support to the bulb, keeping its terminals in contact with the supply current terminals).

playing game developed by Runic Games and published byPerfect World, released for Windows in October 2009.[9] The fantasythemed game is set in the fictional town of Torchlight and the expansive caverns and dungeons nearby, which adventurers explore to collect valuable loot and battle hordes of monsters.[10] Following the October 2009 digital distribution release, a Windows retail box version was released in the U.S. in January 2010 by Encore, Inc,[11] and JoWood Entertainment published a retail box in Europe in April 2010.[1] A port for Mac OS X was developed by World Domination Industries and released through Steam[12] on May 12, 2010. Runic Games and World Domination Industries developed a port for Xbox Live Arcade which was released on March 9, 2011.[13]
