Expectations from the Administration

Publish draft plan of compensatory afforrestation immediately. This must include: Number and types of trees to be planted Protection to be provided to the saplings against cattle and other animals Watering Time-table / schedule for various activities Long-term care and nurturing to each of the plants. Define the number of years the saplings will be watered, protected and cared for / maintained. Form a 5 member Observers Team with representation from Environmental Experts and Civil Society to participate in the Compensatory Afforestation drive and to monitor and make appropriate recommendations to the government to make the compensatory afforrestation plan successful.

Submit Memorandum to the CM & Principal Secretary of Forests, Ecology and Environment (State / Union Govt.) thru DC. with mass signatures from citizens Awareness Sessions in Schools, Colleges and institutions / offices Organise Marches in Hubballi and Dharwad on Environment Day (June 5th), involving Citizens, NGOs, School & College Children. Citizens to Send emails / Post Cards in bulk to CM & Principal Secretary (2 cards = Re.1) Stickers and slogans on Vehicles, Shops & House Doors, Hoardings / advertising boards Any / All other means to achieve the objectives
