Abstract

Broadband Internet access, often shortened to just "broadband", is a term describing a service that provides a connection to the Internet. The bit-rate supported is higher than that supported by some other service, historically a 56 kbit/s modem.

Existing System
DSL is a group of technologies that provide high-speed Internet access, by using the ordinary telephone lines. It converts the ordinary telephone line into a highspeed passage for digital audio, video and data.

Proposed System
ADSL is a type of asymmetric DSL which allots more bandwidth for downstream than upstream. The downstream speed depends on the distance of the user from the service provider Most of the Internet users aim at high downloading, as compared to uploading on network.

BROAD BAND

ADSL
The distinguishing characteristic of ADSL over other forms of DSL is that the bandwidth is greater in the direction to the customer premises than the reverse, giving rise to is asymmetric characteristic. Frequency Spectrum of ADSL

ADSL IMPAIRMENTS
What factors can effect ADSL circuit quality? Return Loss Insertion Loss Longitudinal Balance Crosstalk Noise

ADSL 2
It optionally extends the capability of basic ADSL in data rates to 12 Mbit/s downstream and 3.5 Mbit/s upstream .

Wi-Fi
Wireless Technology is an alternative to wired Technology for connecting the devices in wireless mode
