The Time Machine

Walk to the nearby jungle sure was tiring, lets find a place to rest, please? Please? PLEASE? Jumbo, the elephant whined. He was out of breath, fat that he was. Hey, Look! This looks like a great place to rest! Slither, the snake pointed. Lets go ahead to see if we can find something better, Giffy, the smart giraffe as always spoke to show that he knew better than the rest.

OMIGOSH! Never saw such a tree! shrieked Chirpy Parrot. Its almost like the way Slither moves, twisting and turning after every two steps. Chirpys remark made everyone laugh after a long time. He was right. The tree was surely strange. It was hanging upside down with the windows opening from its branches every thirty forty steps.

Jumpy monkey after a long thoughtful gaze jumped up on one of its branches to look inside. Wow, it looks as though theres a house inside it. Best part is that Im going in it first!! saying that he lunged right ahead. Soon each one of them was right in the tree and looking out of its cute little windows!

Look theres so much to play with here! These blocks and these wonderful toys surely must belong to some lucky kid! Wondered Catty, the caterpillar sitting on a swing that was such great fun and her all time favourite. Everything here is just too good and amazing, but there is just one thing that I cant figure out, Giffy said.

All his friends stopped whatever they were doing to look at what he meant. Their experience with Giffy proved that he was always right whenever he had a bad gut feeling. The big grey mirror! It had no shine or luster; it just hung there giving a spooky feel about it.

Just then Raja, the lion king of the nearby jungle came by and caught them looking at the big mirror. He had to stop them. Dont go near it, he roared. Its not a normal mirror, its a Time machine! Itll take you years ahead or back in time. Stay away from it or youll never know how to come back! he exclaimed.

Jumpys naughty mind started racing. He smiled at his own idea. Raja was a ruthless king who kept all the animals always running helter skelter saving their lives. He had a wonderful idea, and winked at Giffy, knowing that only he would understand his gestures. I dont believe this trash. There is no such thing as a time machine. You are kidding all of us. Said Jumpy.

Me too! I know hes playing a good joke on us, laughed Giffy Well, if you dont believe me, Ill show you, snapped Raja. He stood in front of the mirror and said something like Here I stand, on this one, take me to the Land from where I come!

WHOOOOSHHH! The sound was ear shattering. The mirror roared and rumbled to take the Lion king in and take him to ancient land where he was just an animal, without any special powers or kingdom. He sat alone and had to really work hard for his meals rather than just order them as he was used to.

The animals rejoiced. The tree house was a wonderful place to play in and study. They soon had many friends from the nearby jungle to play with them. And the Time machine? Well it was very carefully covered with a cloth to avoid any mishap now.
