Myers Briggs Type Indicator. Named after Mrs. Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers. Based on ideas of Carl G. Jung a Swiss Psychiatrist. An indicator of personality type. An instrument to understand personality differences. It explains basic patterns of human functioning. More than two million people undertake MBTI in US yearly

People innately differ in what they prefer. People have natural preferences (Mental functions). People direct energy toward the preferences & develop habits

This lead to differences between people.


Preferred Self feels natural, didnt think about it, effortless, looks adult.

Non-preferred self feels unnatural, had to concentrate, awkward, looks childlike.

INTJ Overlook details that dont fit to their intuitive pattern

Dont give weight to impacts of their decision on othrers Fail to give praise or intimate connection as others desire. Under stress overindulge in watching TV, Playing cards, overeating, become overly focused in specific details in their environment that they normally do not notice.

INFJ
Unable to verbalize their inner insights. Fail to check their insights against reason and practicality. Become single minded in pursuit of a vision. Under stress become obsessed with data they normally reject.

ENTP May not care of details & routine required to implement their insights. May not give weight to the impact of their ideas on people. Excessively challenging & stimulating. Under stress overwhelmed by details, losing ability to generate possibilities. Think details are important. ENFP May not care of details & routine required to implement their insights. Overextend themselves, cant say no to interesting things. Fail to apply reason and logic to assess inspirations. Under stress - overwhelmed by details, losing ability to generate possibilities. Think details are important.

ISTP Overlook others emotions. May not give weight to the impact of their ideas on people. Focus on immediate results. Under stress Erupt outwardly inappropriate display of emotions.

INTP Insensitive to needs of others. May not give weight to the impact of their ideas on people. Forget details such as proper dress, unpaid bills, physical needs. Under stress - Erupt outwardly inappropriate display of emotions.

ESTJ Apply logic even when emotions & impact on people are to be primary consideration. Fail to respond to others needs for intimate connection. Not always see the wider ramifications of seemingly simple, direct action. Under stress feel alone and unappreciated. Unable to communicate feelings of distress. ENTJ
