For the First Time

The script are a pop rock band from Dublin, Ireland. There are three members of the band Danny ODonoghue aged 25 who plays the keyboard for the band. Mark Sheehan aged 27 who is the guitar whizz of the band and Glen Power aged 28 who plays the drums. The band was formed in 1996 with the name Mytown and later changed its name to The Script in 2001

Melody
The melody of this piece is very interesting it is sung by a male tenor and is accompanied by guitar and keyboard. Both instruments play block chords through out. The piece begins with just piano block chords but then the guitar joins in .The piece is played tutti for the chorus with the keyboard playing differently without the use of block chords.

Rhythm
The rhythm of this piece is very common among pop rock type of song . It is played mainly by the instruments guitar and keyboard through the use of block chords through out the piece

Tempo
The tempo of this piece begins moderately fast and even this continues through out but gets gradually softer at the end this tempo gives the piece a dancy feel to it adding to the energy of the piece

Dynamics
The Dynamics of this piece are very simple as there are no changes in dynamics through out the piece . The piece starts mettzo forte and continues unchanging through out until the end where the piece finishes rallentando

Harmony
Harmony in this piece is used through out and is seen between the singing and instruments in the piece which are melded very well in this piece by the script. Danny ODonoghue the singer of the group has a tired sounding voice which I think works well in this piece.

Tombre
The tombre of this piece is evident and is no surprise as the Script have been together for 15 years and have written 10 songs. The quality of their song writing is very consistent as they have shown in each of their album's

Texture
The texture of this piece is easy to hear and quite simple. The piece starts off with voice and is very closely followed by keyboard both of which are sung and played by Danny ODonoghue. The guitar joins in next played by Mark Sheehan. Glen Power joins in next during the chorus with his drums when the piece is played tutti the end gradually losses instruments until the guitar and voice are left it ends with voice

Mood
The mood of this piece is sad as the story told through the lyrics is about how the recession is effecting a couple in Dublin. The song tells about hard times due to unemployment caused by the recession in Ireland.

the script is a well known band with two albums' and various live performance cds being sold both online and in shops through iTunes and other various shops
