ABSTRACT
The aim of this project is to design and produce a solar boat. This project gives as a chance to study and apply the concept of solar-powered boat. It also gives a background about some design concerns such as solar cells, aerodynamic shape and drag force. Some important care studies such as drag calculations, aerodynamic body and other design cases to maximize its surface area in order to get the maximum power from solar cell.
OBJECTIVE
To design a solar boat that using solar power as an alternative To produce a solar powered boat that is free emissions including CO2 that caused Greenhouse Effect. Solar energy is completely free. Sure, there is an initial capital cost but once you have made the investment the energy harvested from the sun costs you nothing
THEORY SCIENTIFIC
Photons in sunlight hit the solar panel and are absorbed by semiconducting materials, such as silicon. Electrons (negatively charged) are knocked loose from their atoms, allowing them to flow through the material to produce electricity. Due to the special composition of solar cells, the electrons are only allowed to move in a single direction. An array of solar cells converts solar energy into a usable amount of direct current (DC) electricity.
