Theoretical Aspect of Entrepreneurship


Entrepreneurship, refers to the capacity for innovation,

investment, and activist expansion in new markets (Nathanil H. Leff, 1979); Entrepreneurship is a process through which individuals identify opportunities, allocate resources, and create value. This creation of value is often through the identification of unmet needs or through the identification of opportunities for change: Entrepreneur is a person who is ingenious and creative in finding ways that add their own wealth, power, and prestige (Brumol1990);

Entrepreneurship & Economic Growth


Entrepreneurship and economic growth are positively

liked; An increase in the number of entrepreneurs leads to an increase in economic growth; Entrepreneurs create jobs and higher levels of enterprise promote economic growth; Private sector is the most employer in Rwanda (more than 50%); Private Investments account for 22% to GDP in Rwanda

56% of R`dan Population are youth; High unemployment is found in youth; The graduation rate from Universities is inversely

proportional to the national employment rate and labor market demand; Entrepreneurship sector provides an emerging opportunities for the growing niche of youth Entrepreneurship fosters self-employment that create value; Gov`t`s Policy to promote entrepreneurship in youth

In Rwanda, individual

business account for 96.4% of the entire business; More Females are employed (44.5%) than men in private sector; On International Level: In Hungary-Women own 40% of all Businesses in 1990; In Poland- Women own 38% of all businessess In France-Women head one firm out of Four (4)

In Swaziland- women

account for 70% of SMES; In USA- women own 38% of all business In UK- Women are of the self-employed sector In China- Women own over 40% of all businesses In EU- 1/3 of new businesses are started by Women

Therefore, Entrepreneurship offers tremendous opportunities for women across the World by opening doors to greater: Self-Sufficiency; Self-Esteem; Education; Social Voice; Self Dependent; Personal &Family Growth

Conclusion
In rapid changing Rwanda, all youth must have the

flexibility & creativity to meet the changes they face;


The importance of strong, mindful vision that ensure self-

employment, self-esteem which leads to private sector- led economy is paramount in Rwanda;

Entrepreneurship is the ideal economic model to go for,

for Rwanda`s balanced economic development.
