Engine Performance parameters

Normal LO Press.at Idle speed :- 1.1-2.4 kg/cm2 Normal LO Press.at Rated speed:- 3.4-6.2 kg/cm2 Oil Temp. Normally Should be between 820C -1070c A Water Temperature of 78o C to 95oC is the best working temperature.

Engine Start up process

Selector Switch :- L/R Switch S16 Start Push Button :- S1 24 V DC +ve will extend to Magnetic Starter

through i) NC Contact of K21, ie. Open after Voltage & frequency build up and no generator fault. ii) NC contact of K23, ie. No Engine fault.( Low LO, High WT, Over Speed Safety Controls) iii) K26A, ie. No Stop Comand.

Stop Command
Manual Stop:-Press Stop PB from Local or
remote panel. Auto Stop :- i) If any generator fault. ii) If 24 V DC Supply Fail iii) Incomplete start after preset time. iV) If any Engine fault.

Generator Protections
Inverse time Over current and earth fault
:Relay type CDG31 , Designation 51. Definite time over current :- relay type CTU12, designation 51L. Over voltage :- Relay type VTU21, designation 59 Restricted Earth Fault:- Relay type CAG 14,Designation 64.

Engine Inspection Interval

A-Check :- Daily B- Check :- Every 300 Hrs/6 Months C- Check :- Every 1500 Hrs/1 Year. D- check :- Every 500 Hrs./2 Years. E- Check :- Every 8000 Hrs/4 Years. Major Overhauling is estimated at
3(Three) Echecks or 25000 hrs. whichever earlier.

A- Maintenance Check
Check engine Oil level. Drain sediment from fuel tank. Clean air pre cleaner dust pan. Check air cleaner restriction. Check coolant level.

B-Maintenance Check

Repeat A check Change Lube Oil. Change engine oil full flow filters. Change supper bypass filter. Change fuel oil filters. Clean fuel tank breather. Check air piping. Change water CR element and CR plate. Check/adjust radiator belt.

C- Maintenance Check
Repeat A&B Check. Adjust injectors & Valves. Clean Radiator externals. Check fan hub and water pump. Tighten exhaust manifold cap screw.

D Maintenance check

Repeat A,B and C check. Clean and calibrate injectors. Check fuel pump calibration. Clean Turbocharger wheel and diffuser. Check Turbocharger bearing clearance. Tighten exhaust manifold nuts and cap screw. Check crank shaft end clearance. Check fan hub & drive pully.
