WHAT IS LANGUAGE ARTS?

According to the year 2 teachers guide book, it is a new

component design to create appreciation and enjoyment

amongst pupils as they learn language.

The experience should be fun filled and used as a means

to create confidence.

It also provides pupils with an opportunity to integrate, experiment and apply what they have learnt in the other

modules in fun filled, activity-based and meaningful

experiences.

THE LEARNING STANDARDS:

Content standards 4.1 By the end of the 6 year primary schooling pupils will be able to enjoy and appreciate rhymes, poems and songs through performance. 4.2 By the end of the 6 year primary schooling pupils will be able to express personal response to literary texts. 4.3 By the end of the 6 year primary schooling pupils will be able to plan, organize and produce creative works for enjoyment.
