His well-received autobiography “Confessions of a Gay Anchorman” was published in 2011. He also spearheaded the creation of “The No Shame Project,” a site aimed at youth in the LGBT community. In 2012, Charles Perez launched Breakfast Contigo, a two-hour Spanish-language morning show serving the Miami region and produced by VR4 Media as a test vehicle for Azteca America. In 2013, he additionally accepted a role as freelance correspondent and producer with Al Jazeera America, which launched a 24-hour news network in the U.S. market.
Perez completed a BA in public relations and communications at Florida State University in Tallahassee. In the mid-1990s, he gained national recognition as host of Tribune Entertainment’s “The Charles Perez Show,” which he hosted and produced. Perez’s past professional engagements include an anchor and reporter role with WPLG Channel 10 ABC in Miami from 2006 to 2009. Reporting on current news throughout the South Florida community, Charles Perez also produced and hosted a number of specials, such as “Assignment Venezuela - Venezuela Under Hugo Chavez.”показать меньше
