The report contains a review of the Medieval Slavonic translations of Byzantine law miscellanies. The
translation of Byzantine Law into the Slavonic language continued for centuries, the foundation being laid
by Saint Methodius († 885), the Apostle of the Slavs, who is credited by a scientific tradition with translat-
ing of the canonical «Synagoge of 50 titles» by John the Scholastic (VI c.). In Bulgaria the translation of the
Byzantine «Syntagma of 14 titles» was made in the 10th c., in Serbia «Nomocanon» by St. Sava was trans-
lated in the 13th century. Lastly, «Collectio alphabetica» by Matthaeus Blastares was translated in Serbia in
the 14th century. The two latter translations don’t have any scientific publications, which are long overdue.
