This is a small sized, high power and environment conscious engine, which employs the three valve system, two inlet valves and double ports, and one ‘exhaust valve and the new E-TVCS VERSION-II. Thus, this engine achieves high combustion efficiency and complies with various regulations of exhaust gas. Based upon the conventional model, Kubota developed a unique governor system and various new mechanisms which reduces exhaust emission, noise ‘and vibration and realize durability and high torque. ‘o1710Mi0010 DIESEL ENGINE, \V9900-8 + V3300-T8 WSM, 01710 i ENGINE BODY [1] CYLINDER BLOCK This engine employs separate type crankcases - the crankcase 1 with combustion part and the crankcase 2 which supports the crankcase 1 and reduces noise. Since it is a hanger type, ‘you can easily assemble / disassemble it. The cylinder is a linertess type which enables good cooling operation, less strain and good abrasion resistance. It also employs Kubota's unique nozzle with muttiple injection holes. Besides the conventional cross port system, it ‘employs the forced cooling method between vaives to eliminate heat distortion, thus enabling durable and reliable configuration. or7s0N10030 This engine employs the half counter system and lightweight ‘moving elements, and optimizes the oil clearance of bearings to reduce noise and vibration. The oil et at the small end of the connecting rod reduces heat load of the piston. ‘Three rings are installed in grooves in the piston. ‘The top ring (1) is made of nitriding steel to get more reliability than the chrome plated ring. It is a keystone type ting to get durability against heavy load. At the sliding part, a special piston ring which is conformable to the cylinder wall is employed. The second ring is chromeplated on the peripheral surface and it is an undercut ring to prevent shortage of ol. “The oll ring (8) has chamfered contact faces and an expander ring, which increase the pressure of the oil ring against the cylinder wall. ‘Several grooves are cut on the topland to help heat dissipate and to prevent scuffing. Inside the pump body, the 10 lobe inner rotor (2) is eccentrically engaged with the 11 lobe outer rotor (1). The inner rotor is driven by the crankshaft, which in turn rotate the outer rotor. ‘When the inner rotor rotates, the outer rotor also rotates in the same direction. The two rotors have differences in lobe number and center, which generates space between lobes as shown in the figure. ‘At position (A), there is litte space between lobes in the inlet port. As the rotor rotates towards position, the space between the lobes becomes larger, creating @ negative pressure which sucks in oil. Outside the inlet port, as shown in position (B), the space between the lobes becomes gradually smaller, ‘and oil pressure increases. At position (C), oll is discharged from the outlet port. Preventing this and helping to feed an appropriate quantity of oil is the relief valve. "When the right quantity of oll is supplied, the bypass is closed by coil spring and valve. However, in excessive quantities, force-fed oil pressure rises gradually and finally defeats the spring pressure, opening valve and returning excessive oll to the oil pan through the bypass. When the temperature of the cooling water becomes the valve opening temperature (76.5 °C or higher) of thermostat, the thermostat opens the valve by three steps to return the heated cooling water to the radiator ‘Meanwhile, the bypass valve of thermostat closes the bypass holes of cooling water to prevent the heated ‘cooling water from flowing into the engine through the ‘bypass pipe, thus improving the cooling performance of the radiator. ‘The water pump sucks the cooled water, forces it into the cylinder block and draws out the hot water. Then the cooling is repeated. Furthermore, to control temperature of water, a thermostat is provided in the system. When the thermostat opens, the water moves directly to radiator, but when it closes, the water moves toward the water pump through the bypass between thermostat and water pump. The opening temperature of thermostat is approx. 76.5 °C (169.7 °F). or710M10080 DIESEL ENGINE [2] THERMOSTAT the tem, tem; 0171010100 Valve iit versus flowrate Umin a ve lela soupape par rapport la vitesse a'écouleent Ventithub versus Durch flubrat lOr710F 0110 ioe M15 (outlet water ter flow of cooling water, Pressure + water pump Open/close pertorman Phenomenon too, Preset valve closin A repeated To cope the flow cont ) Overshoot (4) Undersnoot (8) oct 1¥8300-8 « v3300.78 WsM, 0171 Conventional — thermostatically controlled ture contro!
