The conjunction и connects the components of a sentence.

Я читаю книгу Он хорошо говорит Это мама и папа.

и думаю. по-английски
и по русски.
I am reading a book and He speaks English and Russian It’s mom and dad.
thinking well.

Part 2. Conjunction “но”

The conjunction но contrasts actions, objects and their characteristics.

Он плохо читает, Это маленький, Я плохо говорю

но хорошо говорит но интересный по русски, но хорошо
по немецки. город. понимаю.
He reads German poorly, This is a small, but interesting I speak Russian badly,
but he can speak it well. town. but I understand it well.

Part 3. Conjunction “a”

The conjunction а is used to give a more accurate description of an object or action,
rather than to contrast them.

Москва — Меня зовут Я не из Америки,

не маленький, не Мария, а Марина. а из Австралии.
а большой город.
Moscow is not a small, My name is not Maria, I’m not from America,
but a big city. but Marina. but Australia.
