Economy
The goal: lowest possible costs per operating hour.
The solution: a well balanced overall design concept consisting of engine,
cooling and control components - all working together to provide power and
efficiency. The wheel loaders provide impressive fuel economy without sacrificing
power or performance - up to 40% less fuel consumption when compared to
conventional driveline machines in the same tipping-load category.

Handling capacity plus environmental protection.

The impressive efficiency of Liebherr’s wheel loaders boosts profitability in all
kinds of operations. It also makes a valuable contribution to the conservation of
natural resources: Operating results can be decisively optimised while actively
protecting the environment at the same time.

Low operating costs.

- Low fuel consumption – due to the low diesel engine rpm and improved
utilization of the available engine power.
- Reduced brake wear – due to the use of hydrostatic travel drive, the wet
mulit-disc brakes are virtually wear free.
- Reduced tire wear - due to the sensitive drive system and the
standard limited slip differentials.

Driveline „2plus2“ L 544 - L 580

More benefits for you.

Liebherr‘s new generation of loaders meets the criteria for return on
investment: maximum load handling capacity at minimum cost.
Extremely low brake and tire wear also helps to reduce operating
costs. The unique performance of Liebherr’s large loaders is due to
continuous matching of speed and tractive power. The more difficult
the operating conditions, the more advantages these loaders offer. Ultra-modern hydrostatic
transmission.
Smooth, jerk-free movement without the
need to shift gears. Tractive force
matched to travel speed and load
requirements - automatically - without the
need for operator shifting or setting
adjustments.

Performance
Liebherr’s new large loaders offer a unique range of features for greater economy,
yet their performance is in a new dimension too. Their speed and powerful
traction are impressive, particularly when working conditions are tough – for
instance on slopes or soft surfaces. The turbocharged Liebherr engine has been
specially designed and rated for the toughest construction-machinery duties.
It’s your guarantee of long life and excellent reliability - what ever your demands.
It’s maximum torque is reached at only 1200 rpm, and ist TI-E operating principle
makes a big contribution to economy.

Ultra-modern hydrostatic transmission.

Perfect matching of travel speed and tractive power is another key to the
superb way these large wheel loaders perform. The more difficult the operating
conditions, the more advantages these loaders offer.

Higher performance - lower weight.

Liebherr wheel loaders are engineered to utilize the “power-package” as integrated
rear counterweight. This guarantees full stability without additional counterweight,
even at high tipping loads. This considerable reduction in operating weight yields
substantial fuel economy and significantly increases profitability.

Installed position of Drivetrain - Higher performance – lower weight. Installed position of the
Torque converter. Since Liebherr’s travel-gear elements, such as diesel engine Liebherr-drive-line.
and hydraulic components are designed according to
operating needs, an excellent ratio of service weight to
tipping load is achieved. The weight of the driveline
components become active ballast - providing an extremely
stable platform.

Comfort
Leading-edge design featured on Liebherr’s large loaders creates ideal
conditions for man and machine to work productively together and handle
materials efficiently in large quantities. The modern, ergonomically designed
cab enhances operator convienence, ease of operation and ensures comfort
that would not be out of place in a modern luxury car.

A perfect working enviroment.

Ait conditioning is standard on these big Liebherr loaders along with ride control
to counteract vibration during operation.

Quiet inside and out.

The noises level to which both the driver and the working area are exposed is
exceptionally low, thanks to a diesel engine that runs at moderate speeds. The
latest know-how and materials has been incorporated to make sure that noise
levels inside the cab and outside the vehicle are as low as possible.

Electronic information.
Easy to read digital display - all primary functions can be assessed at a single
glance.

Reliable operation.
Travel gear and power hydraulics can be precisely controlled from a single
lever. This reduces physical effort, fatigue and the risk of errors.

Individual steering-wheel adjustment.

The steering wheel can be continuously adjusted to suit the individual driver‘s
preferences.

Continuous traction and speed control.

Also ergonomically located, this pedal permits light-action, precise control of
traction and travel speed.

Reliability
The less time needed for routine daily checks and regular maintenance work,
the higher the levels of availability and profitability. Liebherr Wheel Loaders are
designed to be exceptionally easy to service, with good access to the engine
compartment and all other maintenance points.

Spare parts to the

manufacturer’s quality standards.
Profitability is an important factor in the supply of spare parts too. Liebherr
offers the ideal solution every time, with quality-approved replacement parts
and assemblies from its remanufacturing, rebuilt and repair programs.

Service life: Liebherr wheel loaders feature a robust design. All limit stops are
large and machined at the Liebherr factory to ensure a low wear factor. The
bucket area has wear-resistant bushings. The lifting gear pivot pins are chrome-
plated, which affords them greater protection against corrosion. In addition to
this a patented sealing system has been used for the bucket pivot bearings.

of charge or, on request, will carry out the standard fuel consumption
5 test on your premises. It’s so easy: you simply determine the number
of loading cycles that can be carried out with 1.3 gal/5 litres of diesel.
n=?
B The material is taken from pile A and carried over a distance of 22 yd/
8’

35 20 m to point B. The time needed for each working cycle should be

35 seconds. Discharge at point B should take place from a height of
4 8’/2.5 m. The working cycles continue until the 1.3 gal/5 litres of diesel
in the external measuring tank have been used up. The loader’s fuel
30 consumption per operating hour is calculated as follows:
T ~ 35 sec.
