THE HARPSICHORD IN CREATIVITY OF THE MODERN COMPOSERS

The revival of early music and early instruments has rendered huge influence on
creativity of the modern composers. The transformation ancient harpsichord in the modern
instrument, its entry in an arsenal of favorite means of the creators of modern music,

ON THE NOTION OF REGISTERS, OCTAVES AND OTHER TERMINOLOGY

IN AZERBAIJANI MUGAM ART

The mugam, a form of traditional Azerbaijani professional music, and registers and
octaves in this music are described. The knowledge of registers and octaves is very impor-
tant for the analysis of forms of vocalinstrumental and purely instrumental genres of
mugam art.
