Many thanks for your confidence in our Rointe products. Before you
start to use the low-consumption Kyros towel rails we recommend
that you read this manual carefully in order to use the product
correctly with the maximum guaranteed results.

1.2.  Switch On and Off (Stand-by)

The Kyros technology towel rail is switched on


or off using the button. The following
welcome appears on the TFT screen when the
towel rail is switched on.

The main temperature screen will appear after


5 seconds.

If you press the button again when the towel


rail is switched on it will revert to stand-by mode
and the words “Stand-By” will appear.

5 seconds later and the Rointe logo will appear.

1.3.  Temperature selection

You can change the desired temperature using


the keys or . If the temperature of the room
is less than is desired then the towel rail will begin
to heat up and the symbol will appear.

1.4.  Locking the control panel


You can lock the product from the actual control panel of the towel
rail or remotely via the Air Control remote.

On the product control panel you can lock the


keypad by pressing and holding down the
and buttons at the same time for 3 seconds.
The locked icon will appear. When you press
any button the image on the right will appear on
the screen. You can unlock the product again
by pressing and holding down the and
buttons for 3 seconds.

If we lock the product via the application or
remote control then the remote locked icon will
appear on the screen . When you press any
button on the towel rail control panel, the image
on the right will appear on the screen. If the
product is locked in this way, you can only
unlock the towel rail via the Air Control remote.

1.5.  Adjusting time and date


It is possible to change the time on the towel rail from the control
panel.
Here we explain how to change the time from the towel rail control
panel.

Press the menu button to access the main


menu. Select the sub-menu by using the
and buttons then press to access.

In the configuration sub-menu, use the and Clear


Memory

buttons to select the clock then press


to access.

By pressing the button, the hours, minutes
and days will flash depending on the number of
times the button is pressed (1 for hours, 2 for
minutes and 3 for the day of the week).
We can change any of these by pressing the
or buttons. To confirm, press the button.

To exit the time/day mode wait 30 seconds or press the button


after selecting the day of the week.

1.6.  Main menu

Press the button to access the main menu


of your Kyros technology towel rail. You can
move between the different options on the menu
by pressing the and buttons. The sub-
menu which you have selected will be highlighted
with a frame. The following icons allow you to
access different sub-menus which we will now
explain:

1.6.1.  Configuration sub-menu

The configuration sub-menu consists of 4


technical parameters of the product.
To access this menu, press on the main menu
screen. The screen on the right will appear and

• Screen backlight function

This function allows you to change the brightness


of the screen in the STAND-BY and BACKLIGHT
(ON) modes. We can change between the 2
modes by using the and buttons.
We can increase or decrease the brightness by
using the and buttons.
The cursor shows the intensity of the light within
the range. Press the button to confirm and
to exit.

• Language
You can select the language you wish using this LANGUAGE
function. Select the language you wish by pressing ENGLISH
FRANÇAIS

• Adjust date / time

This function allows you to change the hour,


minutes and day of the week on the product
control panel. To adjust the time/date please
revert to section 1.5.

1.6.2.  Energy Sub-menu

The Energy Sub-menu allows access to the


functions relating to the energy management of
the product. Select the icon from the main
menu by using the and buttons. Press
to access this screen. The following icons allow
you to access distinct sub-menus:

• Open Window Function

This option allows you to turn on or turn off the


Open Window function. Select ON to activate it
or OFF to desactivate it by using the and
buttons. To confirm the desired option and exit,
press the button. To learn more about this
function please see section 1.7 of this manual.

This function activates the Anti-Frost mode (7ºC) when


the towel rail sensor detects a drop of at least 4ºC in 30
minutes.

• Two-hour Boost Mode

This function sets the towel rail to work at


maximum power, regardless of any other mode.
This mode takes priority over any other.
You can choose between 15 minutes, 30
minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours of maximum power
work capacity. 15 30

When the heated towel rail is set on the two-hour 2H

mode, the screen will show this image.

Once the towel rail is set on this mode, and until
the period of time haves finished or the key is
pressed again, the display will show this image.

• Effective Power Function

This function shows the working time


and total time that the product has
been connected on the main screen.

The nominal and effective power will


appear on the screen after 6 seconds
without pushing any buttons.

The effective power is the actual consumption of our product


during the total time it is switched on.

1.6.3.  Balance Sub-menu

The balance sub-menu forces the towel rail to


work in manual mode at a constant 19ºC.
Select the icon from the main menu using
the and buttons.
Press the button to confirm. By pressing this
button the towel rail will return to the main screen
with a set temperature of 19ºC and the “Manual”
icon will appear.

1.6.4.  Programming sub-menu


In this section we will explain the aspects of the towel rails in
relation to how they work in their various functions and modes.

The programming sub-menu provides access


to the functions related to programming the
product. Select the icon from the main menu.
The icons shown below allow access to the
distinct sub-menus which we will describe later:

What are the manual, automatic and pilot wire modes?

Manual Mode
This mode allows you to change between comfort, eco and
anti-frost modes changing the temperature as described in
section 1.3.
Automatic Mode
This mode activates the programming which has been set
in the towel rail.
Pilot Wire Mode
Not available in UK. Only upon demand

This mode allows you to control the towel rail via a central
control.

What are the comfort, Eco and Anti-Frost modes?

These modes represent different ranges of temperatures


available within the products.

• Manual/Automatic Function

Press the button to change


between the Manual and
Automatic modes.

On the main screen the symbol


will appear in Automatic
mode and the symbol will
appear in Manual mode.

The Automatic Mode will activate the programming which


you have already set in the product.

• Start Programming

To start programming, use the and


buttons to choose the icon and confirm by
pressing the button.

We must be in AUTOMATIC MODE.

1 Select the COMFORT temperature

Use the and keys to select the COMFORT


temperature, between 19ºC and 30ºC. The
symbol and the temperature will flash. Once
selected, press to confirm.
2 Select the ECO temperature

Continue and select the ECO temperature,


between 7.5ºC and 18.5ºC. The symbol and
the temperature will flash. Press to confirm.

3 Select DAYS

After pressing the button, the days of the week


will flash showing the days as Day1, Day 2 etc.
We can use the and buttons to go forwards
or backwards through the days. Press the
button to select the day or days which you wish
to program with the same programming.

4 Asign mode to each HOUR
To access the hourly programming of the chosen
days press until you pass day number 7.

You can move back and forward between the
hours by using the and buttons. The
hours are shown as 0h, 1h, 2h…

By using the button you can chose between


the COMFORT, ECO and OFF modes.

Once the hours of the selected days have been programmed, press
or wait 30 seconds without touching any button.
You can program day by day or you can program several days at
the same time.

• User Function

To access the User Function, use the and


buttons to select the icon and confirm
by pressing .

USER Function
This allows the user to establish a limited working temperature
range (maximum and minimum temperature).
By way of a 4 digit code you can access a menu where
you can activate or deactivate this function, change the
password and fix a maximum and minimum temperature
range for the product
When the product is working with this function one of the
following symbols will appear on the main screen
depending on whether it is in Automatic mode, Manual mode
or Pilot Wire mode.

Select the numbers by using the and


buttons and confirm by pressing .
Press OK to access. If the pin number is wrong
then the words “INCORRECT PIN” will appear

When the PIN number has been entered correctly
the main screen of the basic configuration will
appear.

The following icons allow access to the various


sub-menus which we will now describe:

• Activate function

Allows you to activate or deactivate the USER


USER
function. Select ON to activate or OFF to FUNCTION
deactivate the function by using the and ON
buttons. Once the chosen mode has been OFF
selected, press to select and exit.

The icon or will appear at the top of the


screen depending whether it is on Automatic
mode or Manual mode.
If the product is in Pilot Wire Mode then the
icon will appear.

• Maximum temperature

This allows you to set the maximum working


temperature of the towel rail. Using the and
buttons you can increase or reduce the
temperature between 19ºC and 30ºC. Press
to exit once the desired temperature has been
chosen.

• Minimum temperature

This allows you to set the minimum working


temperature of the towel rail. Using the and LOWER
TEMPERATURE
buttons you can increase or reduce the LIMIT
temperature between 7.5ºC and 18.5ºC. Press 10.0ºC
to exit once the desired temperature has
been chosen.

To exit, press the button or wait 30 seconds.


• Pilot Wire Function
Not available in UK. Only upon demand

Activate or deactivate the Pilot


Wire Control function. Select
PILOT
ON to activate or OFF to WIRE
deactivate by using the keys ON
and . Press to confirm and OFF
exit. The symbol will appear
on the screen.

WARNING!

The Pilot Wire function only allows you to control your


heating via the pilot wire programmer.

1.7.  Open Window Function
This function is activated when the towel rail sensor detects a drop
of 4ºC in the set temperature within a period of half an hour.

When this function is activated the image on


the right will appear on the towel rail screen for
5 seconds:

When the “Open Window” mode is activated,


the towel rail will pass into Anti-Frost 7ºC mode.
The following screen will appear on the towel rail
screen indicating that the Anti-Frost mode has
been activated.

This mode will be active for 2 hours. If the button is pushed


during this period of time then towel rail will switch off.

You can switch the towel rail on again by pushing the button
and it will work without the “Open Window” function.

2.  Mounting Instructions


Inside the box you will find a mounting kit.
1. Choose the right part of the wall.
2. Place the mounting stencil on the wall, marking the places for
the holes.
3. Remove the stencil and make the holes in the wall.

4. Insert the rawl plugs in the holes made.
5. Screw the plastic fastener to the wall with the 5.5 x 50 mm screw.
6. Screw the two brackets for supporting the heated towel rail and
the plastic fastener to the horizontal tube of the heated towel rail
like in Figure 1 with the 8 x 26 mm screw.
7. Insert what you have assembled in Section 6 into the plastic piece
and fix well with the 5 x 12 mm screw.
8. Place the cover on the piece supporting the heated towel rail.

3.  Connecting Instructions
Connection to the mains must be made observing the voltage stated
on the product technical data label.
This appliance is designed to be permanently installed connected
to fixed facilities. The heated towel rail power supply circuit must
have an all-pole circuit breaker switch with a separation of at least
3 mm between the contacts.
The appliance must be installed, if possible, away from any source
of draughts (windows, doors) or any other thing which may affect its
functioning. In this way, the temperature will not be affected. Place
any object which might prevent the air flow (furniture, armchairs)
50 cm away from the front of the appliance.
The heater must never be installed immediately below a power point.
The lower part of the control panel must be placed at least 15 cm
from the floor.
For any appliance, if the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced
by a specific cable. The replacement of the cable must be done
by the maker, its after-sales service or qualified personnel. The
technical specifications of your appliance appear on the technical
data label.

IMPORTANT
•  This device must never be installed with its control panel at the
top.
•  This device must not be installed horizontally.
•  During installation, use wedges so that the control panel will not
be in contact with the floor.

3.2.  Specific Regulations for Bathrooms


This device is in compliance with CLASS II safety regulations (double
insulation). It can be installed in areas 2 and 3, position A and B
whenever it observes the following regulations:

•  In bathrooms, the towel rail must never be installed in such a way


that the switches and other control devices may be touched by
someone in the bathtub or having a shower.
•  In a kitchen or bathroom, the body of the heated towel rail shall
be placed at least 25 cm from the floor.
•  It must not be earthed.

4.  Maintenance & Cleaning
Thanks to the high standard of its materials and surface treatment,
your heated towel rail is protected against corrosion.
Don’t use abrasive or corrosive products. Use a cloth with alcohol,
taking the precaution to switch off the device beforehand. For the
control panel, use a dry cloth (without any solvents).
4.1.  Safety
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and
above and persons with reduced physical sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in
a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children should
not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance should
not be carried out by children without supervision. Children must
be supervised at all times to ensure that they do not play with the
product.
5.  Guarantee
5.1.  If you need to invoke the guarantee service, contact the
dealer / installer where it was purchased. In the event of any
problems, you can contact ROINTE on its TECHNICAL
ASSISTANCE HELPLINE 01432 598 024 or e-mail us at
support@rointe.co.uk
5.2.  ROINTE guarantees this product is free from defects in
materials, design and workmanship at the time of its purchase
and for the immediately following period of 240 months
regarding steel and leak-tightness, and 36 months for electric
and electronic parts.

5.3.  If during the guarantee period the heated towel rail
fails to work properly, due to defects in design, materials or
workmanship, ROINTE shall repair or replace the towel rail,
whichever it considers to be more advisable, in the terms and
conditions stated below:
5.3.1.  The guarantee shall only be covered if the original
Certificate of Guarantee issued to the buyer by the dealer or
installer is presented, and when the guarantee states the towel
rail serial number and model (on the technical data label) and
its date of purchase. ROINTE reserves the right to refuse the
guarantee service when this information has been removed or
changed following the original purchase of the product.
Only the original receipt or invoice shall be accepted as proof
of purchase when presented to the dealer or installer that sold
the product.
5.3.2.  The guarantee shall only be applicable to cases regard-
ing defects in materials, design and workmanship, and shall
never cover any damages due to the following:
5.3.2.1. Incorrect use of the product for other than normal
purposes or failure to observe the instructions given by ROINTE
regarding the use and maintenance of the heated towel rail, as
well as the installation or use of the product in a way that fails
to comply with the applicable technical safety standards.
5.3.2.2. Repairs made by unauthorized repair shops or the
opening of the heated towel rail by unauthorized persons.
5.3.2.3. Unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of
ROINTE, such as lightning, fire, floods, public disorder, etc.
5.3.2.4. The repairs or replacements covered in this guarantee

do not permit any extension or new beginning of the guarantee
period.
The repairs or replacements covered in this guarantee shall
be made with functionally equivalent reconditioned units. The
faulty parts or pieces removed shall become the property of
ROINTE.
5.3.2.5. This guarantee does not affect the buyer’s statutory
rights under the current national laws, or the buyer’s rights
against those of the dealer or installer arising from the contract
of sale.
5.3.2.6. In the event of there being no national legislation
applicable, this guarantee shall be the buyer’s sole protection.
ROINTE, its offices, dealers and installers shall not be held liable
for any type of damages, whether fortuitous or accidental, arising
from the failure to observe any of the regulations related with
this product.

European Directive 2012/19/UE


Under the European Directive 2012/19/UE on waste electrical and
electronic equipment (WEEE), the apparatus cannot be disposed
in the usual council bins and containers. They must be separated
to optimize the recovery and recycling of all of the components
and materials and reducing the impact to human health and the
environment. The symbol of the container crossed out over a
horizontal line is marked on all of ROINTE’s products to remind the
consumer of the obligation to separate them on disposal.
The consumer should contact the local authority or original point
of sale to learn more about the correct disposal of this product.
