Lazy Jack.

Некрасова Вика (ведущая новостей): Good afternoon. I’m glad to see you and it’s daily news.
We have an interesting story about Lazy Jack. Jack lives with his mother. They are very poor but Jack is
so lazy that he does nothing. So people call him Lazy Jack. His mother can’t make him work. And now
Natasha and Damir are taking an interview from Jack’s mother. Natasha…Damir…

(Добрый день. Я рада вас видеть и в эфире ежедневные новости. У нас есть для вас интересная
история про ленивого Джека. Джек живёт со своей мамой. Они очень бедные, но Джек слишком
ленив и он совсем ничего не делает. Поэтому люди называют его «ленивый Джек». Его мама не
может заставить его работать. И сейчас Наташа и Дамир берут интервью у мамы Джека. Наташа…
Дамир…

Наташа: Good afternoon. (Добрый день)

Дамир: Here we are in Jack’s house. ( Мы находимся в доме Джека).

Наташа: Can you tell us about your son? (Вы не могли бы рассказать нам о вашем сыне?)

Дамир: How does he usually spend his week? (Как он обычно проводит свою неделю?)

Mother (Мама): So, he does nothing…look! (Ну…он ничего не делает…смотрите)

На сцене остается мама и стирает, приходит Джек:

Jack (Джек): Oh, mum, hello! I’m hungry! (О, мама, здравствуй. Я голоден!)

Mother (Мама): if you don’t begin to work for your porridge, I will turn you out of the house! (Если
ты не начнёшь зарабатывать, я выгоню тебя из дома!)

Некрасова Вика (ведущая новостей): On Monday, he met a neighbouring farmer. (В

понедельник он встретил фермера)

Farmer: Hello Jack! Do you want to work? ( Здравствуй Джек, не хочешь поработать?)

Jack: Yeah, with great pleasure! (Да, с огромным удовольствием!- берёт грабли и работает в
саду)

Farmer: your work was not so good but still…Here is a penny. (ты плохо работал…но всё же…вот
тебе пенни)

Jack: Thank you. (спасибо!)

Некрасова Вика (ведущая новостей): But when he was coming home in the evening, he lost the
penny. (но по дороге домой он потерял пенни)

Mother: You are stupid boy, you should have put it in your pocket.(ты глупый мальчика, ты
должен был положить пенни в карман!)

Jack: I’ll do so another time.(в следующий раз я так и сделаю)

 Некрасова Вика (ведущая новостей): On Tuesday, Jack met a cow-keeper. (во вторник Джек
встретил молочницу)

Cow-keeper: Hello Jack! Do you want to work? (Здравствуй Джек, не хочешь поработать?)

Jack: Yes, of course! (Да, конечно!-доит корову)

Cow-keeper: Ok, here is your jar of milk for your mummy, not for you! (Хорошо, вот кувшин
молока для твоей мамы, не для тебя!)

Jack: Thanks a lot! (Спасибо!)

Некрасова Вика (ведущая новостей): Jack took the jar. He was very thirsty. So, on the way home
he drank all his milk. (Джек взял кувшин. Он испытывал жажду, поэтому по дороге домой выпил всё
молоко).

Джек приходит домой:

Mother: Where is the milk? Dear me! You should have carried it on your head. (Где молоко? О
Боже!)

Jack: I’ll do so another time (в следующий раз я так и сделаю).

Некрасова Вика (ведущая новостей): So on Wednesday, Jack met a cattle-keeper. (В среду Джек
встретил пастуха).

Cattle-keeper: Hello Jack! Do you want to work? (Здравствуй Джек, не хочешь поработать?)

Jack: Yes, I do! (Да, конечно! –собирает яблоки)

Cattle-keeper: Here is your apple! Only one apple! (Вот твоё яблоко. Только одно яблоко).

Jack: Thanks! (Спасибо!)

Некрасова Вика (ведущая новостей): Jack took the apple and went home. He was very hungry.
So, he ate this apple (Джек взял яблоко и пошёл домой. Он был очень голоден, поэтому съел его).

Mother: Where are the apples? You are foolish boy! We have no money at all and we have no food!
(Где яблоки? Ты глупый мальчишка. У нас совсем нет денег и нет еды!).

Jack: Sorry, Mum…(Прости, мам).

Некрасова Вика (ведущая новостей): On Thursday, Jack met a butcher.

Butcher: Hi Jack! Do you want to work? (Здравствуй Джек, не хочешь поработать?)

Jack: Certainly!(копает)

Butcher: Here is your mutton. Be careful, it can spoil!(Вот твоя баранина. Будь осторожен, она
может испортиться).

 Некрасова Вика (ведущая новостей): Jack took the mutton and went home. By the time he got
home the mutton was all spoilt (Джек взял баранину и пошёл домой. Когда он пришёл, мясо
испортилось).

Mother: You are foolish boy, you should have carried it on your shoulder (ты глупый мальчишка,ты
должен был нести её на плече!).

Jack: I’ll do so another time (в следующий раз я так и сделаю).

Некрасова Вика (ведущая новостей): On Friday, Lazy Jack met a baker.

Baker: Hi Jack! Do you want to work? (Здравствуй Джек, не хочешь поработать?)

Jack: Sure!(поливает огород или носит муку)

Baker: You are so silly! You can’t work at all. We haven’t earned anything for today because of you.
You can take this cat.

Некрасова Вика (ведущая новостей): Jack took the cat, and began to carry it very carefully in his
hands, but in a short time the cat scratched him so much that he let it go.

On his way home he passed the house of a rich man. The man had an only daughter, who was a
beautiful girl, but she was deaf and dumb. She had never laughed in her life, and the doctors said she
would never speak till somebody made her laugh.

This young lady was looking out of the window when Jack was trying to catch the cat. She burst out
laughing, and at once found that she could hear and speak. The father was so happy that he married his
daughter to Lazy Jake, and Jack became a rich gentleman. They lived in a large house, and Jack’s mother
lived with them.
