Gender

All nouns in Russian belong to one of three genders:

masculine(мужской род) : диван(sofa), палец(finger),

стакан(glass)

feminine(женский род) : ручка(pen), бумага(paper), кружка(cup)

neuter(средний род) : слово(word), место(place), море(sea)

Pronoun (Possessive and Third-Person) 

Agreement The gender of the noun determines both the

ending of the modifying possessive pronoun, as well as the
form of the third-person pronoun that can replace it.

Где мой стол? Вот он.                               Where is my table? Here

itГде
is. моё окно? Вот оно.                            Where is my window?
Here it is.
Где моя лампа? Вот она.                          Where is my lamp?
Here it is.
                         Adjective Agreement 

An adjective must express the same gender as the noun

it modifies

1.Это новый стол - This is a new table  

2.Это новое окно - This is a new window

3.Это новая лампа - This is a new lamp

A predicate adjective must express the same gender as

its subject noun :

Cтул занят - The chair is occupied

Место занято - The seat is occupied
Комната занята - The room is occupied
 Past Tense of Verbs

A predicate verb in the past tense must agree with the

subject noun it refers to.
Стол был там - The table was there
Окно было там - The window was there
Лампа была там - The lamp was there
Write the form of the personal pronoun óн, онó, онá that
