Abstract
The article states and justifies the principles of highways repair efficiency
assessment. It proposes efficiency criteria for repair methods selection
depending on actual (initial) transport-working condition of road pavement.
Efficient decisions of repair works selection by Pareto method with
normalization of assessment criteria are determined. The article proposes
a selection procedure for efficient repair methods depending on repair costs
and actual transport-working condition of road pavement.

Abstract
The article reviews the widely applied calculation method of stability
assessment of soil mass restrained by a sheet pile wall. This review shows
a breach of balance conditions. The article proposes an alternative method
meeting those conditions. The test data are compared with assessment
results by the applied method and by the proposed one.
