INTRODUCTION

1 INTRODUCTION

This manual describes how to set up and use the

Sophie Classic S mammography X-ray unit. This X-ray
unit must only be used for mammography.
NOTE The use of Sophie Classic S mammography X-
ray unit is allowed only under supervision of a
health care professional.
The Planmed Sophie Classic S mammography X-ray
unit fulfills the requirements of European Council
Directive 93/42/EEC, Class IIB.
NOTE This manual is valid for the following software
revisions:
- REAR12 CPU 1.16 or later
- TUBE CPU 3.42 or later.

All key illustrations indicate that the key should be

The display values in this guide are only examples and
26 should not be interpreted as recommended values
unless otherwise stated.

NOTE This manual includes also description of

optional items that vary from market to
market.
NOTE Make sure that the C-arm locking knob has

been removed from the X-ray unit’s base. If

knob not, remove it by turning it counterclockwise.

NOTE EMC requirements have to be considered, and

the equipment must be installed and put into
service according to the specific EMC
information provided in the accompanying
documents.
