Эссе-проект Number of
respondents Places to study
Imagine that you are doing a project
on where students in Zetland choose 33% Home
to study. You have found some data on
the subject – the results of the opinion
polls (see the table below).

31% Library

Comment on the data in the table and 20% School hall

give your opinion on the subject of the
project.
10% School canteen

Write 200-250 words.

6% Café
Use the following plan:

– make an opening statement on the – outline a problem that can arise with
subject of the project;
choosing a place to study and suggest a way
– select and report 2-3 facts;
of solving it;

– make 1-2 comparisons where relevant; – conclude by giving your opinion on the
importance of choosing a place to study.

There is no doubt that studying is an essential part of everyday life and it is becoming
more difficult to find somewhere quiet to study. As part of my project, I have found some data
and a table, illustrating the most popular place where students study in Zetland. The aim of my
project is to analyse the information.

Now I would like to report the main facts from the table. Firstly, people who live in Zetland
mostly study at home (33%) and in libraries (31%). Secondly, the third most popular place to
study among the respondents is a school hall with 20%. Thirdly, cafés (3%) appear to be the
least popular place.

However, it is worth mentioning that the difference between the percentages of the people
who like cramming at home (33%) and in a library (31%) is small, only 2 per cent. At the same
time, cafés are three times as popular as a school hall.

One problem that can arise with choosing a place to study is that some of them can be
noisy. As the table shows, studying at home is the most popular, therefore, it is clear that other
places where people want to study are too loud. The best way of solving this problem is to wear
earphones to block out noise.

In conclusion, I believe that choosing the right place to study is important because if one
wants to have a good academic performance, he/she needs a place where one can focus.
Earphones can be a remedy to find some much-needed peace.
