или после согласной произносится как [θ]: thick,
thanks, three. Чтобы получился этот звук, надо
поместить кончик языка между зубами и
произнести звук [s].

Для того, чтобы правильно прочитать
незнакомое английское слово, придумали
специальные символы — транскрипцию. Это
своего рода инструкция, как читать слово.
Обычно её записывают в квадратных скобочках.
Например: [pen]. Это очень удобно: один символ
= один звук.
