Future in the past говорит о каком-то действии в будущем, которое обсуждается в прошлом.

Future in the past используют в сложноподчиненных предложениях — это значит, что у такого
предложения две части и связаны они, как правило, союзом that, но иногда он может опускаться:
I knew (that) you would laugh – Я знал, что ты засмеешься.
I said (that) we would not discuss about it – Я говорил, что мы не будем спорить об этом.

Первая часть предложения строится в прошедшем времени, а значит глагол также

употребляется в форме прошедшего времени: с окончанием -ed, если он правильный или во
второй форме глагола — если неправильный.

work – worked
think – thought

Вторая часть предложения — в будущем времени. Будущее в прошедшем образуется также, как
любое будущее время за одним исключением — вместо will используем would.

Future Simple Future in the Past

I will work in this company I said (that) I would work in this company
Я говорил, что я буду работать в этой
Я буду работать в этой компании компании.

Отрицательная форма образуется, как обычно, с помощью добавления частицы not после
вспомогательного глагола would:

He said he would not come at 5 o’clock. – Он сказал, что не приедет в 5 часов

I thought you would not visit me. – Я думала, ты не навестишь меня

Future Simple in the Past. Это одна из самых часто употрябляемых форм во Future in the Past. Она
используется для обозначения какого-то действия в будущем (которое обсуждалось в прошлом) и
строится по подобию Future Simple:

I said that Mom would be late today. Я сказал, что мама будет поздно сегодня

Future Continuous in the Past — обозначает действие, которое будет длиться какое-то время в
будущем, но обсуждается это действие в прошлом. Это могут быть такие действия, как сон,
написание книги, готовка, работа — то есть что-то про процесс. к глаголу would добавляется
частица be, а к глаголу, обозначающему продолженное время — добавляется окончание -ing.

I thought I would be reading your article at that time tomorrow. Я думал, что буду читать твою статью
завтра в это время.

Future Perfect in the Past — обозначает действие, которое уже завершилось в будущем. само
действие обсуждается в прошлом.

В первой части предложения глагол, в прошедшем времени. Во второй части используем глагол
would и к нему добавляем атрибуты Past Perfect: have + глагол в третьей форме.

И еще один нюанс: предлог by указывает на время окончания действия (by = к определенному
сроку) и по нему тоже можно опознать Future Perfect in the Past.

I supposed that she would have published her novel by the end of January.
Я предполагал, что она опубликует свой роман к концу января.

Future Perfect Continuous in the Past. Эта конструкция используется, когда нам нужно сообщить
о продолжительном действии, которое в будущем будет длиться до определенной временной
точки. При этом, само действие совершается в будущем по отношению к прошлому.
Формула: берем глагол would + have been + глагол с окончанием -ing:

Rick said that he would have been working in that company for 3 years next month
Рик сказал, что в следующем месяце будет 3 года, как он работает в этой компании.
I told that I would have been studying French for 3 years next year. — Я рассказал, что в следующем
году будет три года, как я учу французский.
