 Борис Иванович Тищенко (род. в 1939 г.) — один из самых своеобраз-
ных и глубоких современных русских композиторов, чье творчество нахо-
дит живой и постоянно ширящийся слушательский отклик в родной стра-
не и в мире. Народный артист России, лауреат Государственной премии
имени М. И. Глинки, он представлен своими произведениями в програм-
мах многочисленных концертов и фестивалей, в каталогах грамзаписей, в
радио- и телепередачах.
За три с половиной десятилетия композиторской деятельности им со-
здано более ста опусов в различных жанрах концертной музыки (симфо-
нической и камерной, инструментальной и вокальной) и в области музы-
кального театра.
Музыка Тишенко передает картину современного мира, воспринятую
и запечатленную в гармонии резчайших контрастов. Благородная человеч-
ность тут противостоит пороку, торжество разума — первобытному вар-
варству, этическая возвышенность — приземленное™ и пошлости, мир
детства, любви, красоты и надежд — угрозе всемирной катастрофы. Ка-
таклизмы мира внешнего полно отражаются в строе внутренней жизни
человека, которую композитор подвергает пристальному художественно-
му исследованию. Мало у кого в музыке столь развитые симфонические
концепции, столь протяженные и мощные нарастания, столь огромной
взрывчатой силы кульминации.
Ближе всего, пожалуй, музыка Т и щ е н к о примыкает к творчеству
Д.Д. Шостаковича, у которого Тищенко в 1962—1965 годах обучался в
аспирантуре Ленинградской консерватории и с которым до конца жизни
великого мастера находился в дружеских отношениях.
Следует добавить, что Тищенко известен также как даровитый концер-
тирующий пианист, как тонкий музыкальный писатель, автор статей ис-
следовательского, критического и мемуарного характера, как музыкально-
общественный деятель.

Boris Ivanovich Tishchenko (b. 1939) is one of the most original and profound
contemporary Russian composers whose creative work finds lively, ever increasing
and widening response of the listeners in this country and abroad. He is the
Peoples Artist of the Russian and the Winner of the State Award named after
M . I . Glinka. His name is included in the programmes of numerous concerts and
festivals, in the catalogues of recordings, in different broadcasts and telecasts.
During 35 years as a composer he created over one hundred opuses in various
genres of concert music including symphonies and chamber, instrumental and
vocal compositions and in the field of musical theatre.
Tishchenko's music represents a picture of the world nowadays percieved and
expressed in the harmony of the sharpest contrasts. Noble humanizm resists to
vice, triumph of intelligence to primitive barbarism, ethic loftiness to
commonplaceness and vulgarity, the world of childhood, love, beauty and hopes
being in striking contrast to the danger of world catastrophe.
The outer world cataclysms are fully reflected in the inner processes of a
human life which is under a deep master's investigation. Not so many composers
possess such developed concepts in the art of symphony, such prolonged and
powerful growth of music, such great and explosive culminations.
Probably Tishchenko's music joins most closely the creative art of
D . D . Shostakovich under who Tishchenko took the post-graduation course at
the Leningrad Conservatory from 1962 till 1965 and with whom he was on
friendly terms to the end of his days.
It should be added that Tishchenko is known not only as composer but as a
performing pianist, as a sensitive music writer, as the author of the articles having
investigative, critical and memoir character and as a person who takes an active
part in musical and social life.
